Sunday Morning FaithStation

FaithStation is our Sunday morning faith experience for children ages preschool through fifth grade that includes Kid's Own Worship at 9:00 a.m. and Sunday School at 10:00 a.m. This format is designed to weave one theme throughout the morning and create an integrated and cohesive Christian education experience for children...a place to worship, grow and serve — together!

All Hands on Deck

When you arrive at Gary Church with your children, please stop by the Children's Ministry Welcome Desk in the lower level commons where you will be greeted by one of our children's ministry hospitality team members. Here you can register your children, if this is your first time visiting Gary, and/or sign in your children and pick up their name tag stickers. Please ask your children to wear their name tag.

9:00 a.m.   Children are invited to join their families for the first part of the worship service in the main sanctuary. Children ages preschool 3 through 5th grade are invited to come forward for a special children's message and then children preschool through 3rd grade are escorted by FaithStation leaders to the lower level commons for Kid's Own Worship, while our 4th & 5th grade children are invited to rejoin their families for corporate worship. Kid's Own Worship is a child-friendly, interactive worship service. Half way through this service, the preschool aged children will move into the preschool classroom for their own age appropriate lesson. At 10:00 a.m., the children will be transitioned into small group Sunday School classes (preschool children remain in the preschool classroom).

10:00 a.m.   FaithStation continues this hour with age-appropriate, small group Sunday School classes in the preschool room (3's & 4's) and Gamon Hall (PreK-K, 1st-2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th). This loving, interactive, hands-on time of learning, growing, serving and demonstrating faith continues with the same theme as Kid's Own Worship, using the FaithWeaver NOW! curriculum by Group Publishing. Children are engaged in activities that help them experience God's story in fresh, fun and meaningful ways. Whether studying the Old or New Testament, every lesson helps the children focus on one thing - a growing relationship with Jesus. The FaithWeaver NOW! FamilyConnect pages for this month’s Sunday School lessons are available here. We encourage families to continue these great faith conversations at home!

Mission Movement
We feel that children learn the importance of service at a young age. One Sunday each month, during FaithStation, our children participate in a hands-on, meaningful mission project. These projects might connect with a church-wide mission, such as wrapping donated pajamas for Christmas Sharing, or a holiday, such as a flower sale on Valentine's Day to raise funds for South Sudan Voices of Hope, or working on a group art project, such as the Biblical Story of CREATION, to display in our own Burning Bush Art Gallery, to name a few. These Sundays will be noted in the bulletin and children ages preschool 3 - 5th grade are encouraged to participate.
