Sundays, Sept. 17 and 24, 10 a.m., Chapel, led by Dong Hyeon Jeong Each of the Synoptic Gospels (Matthew, Mark and Luke) wrote about their faith in Jesus a bit differently from each other. We see the differences (and similarities) clearly in the beginnings and endings of the Gospels. Why? The authors sought to share the Gospel in ways that are meaningful and relevant to their communities. For three weeks, we will explore the underlying circumstances, concerns and callings the Gospels are responding to. Along the way, the participants of this series are also invited to respond to their own calling here and now. Th Rev. Dr. Dong Hyeon Jeong is the Assistant Professor of New Testament Interpretation and the director of the Center for Asian/ Asian American Ministry at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary (Evanston, IL). He is an ordained elder/pastor of the United Methodist Church (Philippines Conference). His research highlights the importance of reading/interpreting the New Testament with social justice perspectives.
