Winner of the Orwell Prize for political writing and shortlisted for the 2022 Booker Prize, Small Things is a very short but “deeply affecting story of hope, quiet heroism, and empathy” based on the true story of the infamous Magdalen laundries in Ireland. Go ahead and pick up a copy and begin reading now! We will meet after worship on July 26 for a guided discussion. Then, on Wednesday evening, July 29, we will gather to watch and discuss the 2024 award-winning film adaptation directed by Tim Mielants starring Cillian Murphy and Emily Watson.
